Langkawi Island, Malaysia

Langkawi Island, Malaysia
Langkawi – an archipelago made up of 99 islands on Malaysia’s west coast – is the country’s best-known holiday destination. Surrounded by stunning turquoise sea, the interior of the main island is a mixture of picturesque paddy fields and jungle-clad hills. If you’re intent on carting off duty-free booze, cigarettes and chocolate, then this is the place to be. Still, Nature-lovers will find the island just as agreeable as the shoreline is fringed by powder-fine sand and swaying coconut trees. The island is especially recognised for its excellent diving opportunities and this tropical gem hides a treasure trove of other exciting holiday opportunities. The gastronomic options are vast and the sightseeing attractions certainly do not disappoint. From the expansive Underwater World Langkawi along Pantai Cenang to the soaring Cable Car in Pantai Kok, Langkawi is an electrifying locale that keeps visitors coming back for more.

In  Langkawi, snorkelling and diving can be done in the Pulau Payar Marine Park, which is 19 nautical miles off Langkawi Island. Langkawi does not have any proper dive or snorkelling spots, but Pulau Payar is a fantastic place for such activities that some consider even on par with Tioman and Redang. The simplicity of the setup and arrangement for these activities also make it very accessible for amateur divers.

Diving in Langkawi

For such a small area, there are a number of incredible dive sites here. Some artificial reefs were also sunk around the island, making it ideal for more marine creatures to build their nests.  Basically, most of the diving is done on the part of the island which faces north. This is adjacent to the leeward side of the island, where there is a narrow strip of the beach visible.
A number of dive operators operate from Langkawi. Divers and snorkelers are picked up from their hotels to the the jetty, either at the main Kuah jetty or the Royal Yacht Club. Pick up time varies between 8 am to 9 am. Usually, your trip will also include a packed lunch.

Normally, two dives would be scheduled, with a surface interval planned during your lunch break.  It is not possible to do more than two dives a day due to logistics problem.  By 3.30p.m. both dives would be completed and divers go back to their hotels with the dive boat.

There several dive operator in langkawi such as langkawi coral and eastmarine dive centre. I had dive with langkawi coral dive centre. They offered 2 fun dive at Pulau Payar.

There are 15 different dive sites at Pulau Payar Marine Park for the certified divers to enjoy. Divers are ferried to these dive sites by our specially designed dive boats.
The most popular dive sites being Coral Garden, Sunken Boat Point, Grouper Farm, Sponge Reef, Lembu Rocks, Shark Point, House Reef – where there is a good presentation of marine fauna and marine species of barracudas, groupers, snappers, lion fishes, stone fishes, seahorses, sweetlips, angelfishes, butterfly fishes, parrot fishes, wrasses, etc.

Internet television allows the users to choose the program or the television show they want to watch from an archive of programs or from a channel directory. The two forms of viewing Internet television are streaming the content directly to a media player or simply downloading the program to the user's computer. With the "TV on Demand" market growing, these on-demand websites or applications are essential for major television broadcasters.

RTM TV1 is a state-owned free-to-air television network in Malaysia, which is owned and operated by Radio Televisyen Malaysia, a government agency. It broadcasts from its headquarters in Angkasapuri, Kuala Lumpur along with its sister channel TV2 and some other radio stations.

Perhentian Island,Scuba Diving , Diving License, Sipadan Island, Vacation, Hotel, Malaysia, Mabul Island

The Perhentian Islands (Pulau Perhentian in Malay) lie approximately 10 nautical miles (19 km) off the coast of northeastern Malaysia in the state of Terengganu. The two main islands are Perhentian Besar ("Big Perhentian") and Perhentian Kecil ("Small Perhentian"). The small, uninhabited islands of Susu Dara (Virgin Milk), Serenggeh and Rawa lie off Kecil. The Perhentians belong to Pulau Redang National Marine Park, which means that fishing, collecting coral and littering are strictly prohibited

Getting There

Journey to Perhentian Island from Kuala Besut jetty takes about 30 to 45 minutes by speed boat and 1½ hours by slow boat.
There are a number of boat operators in Kuala Besut jetty offering boat services to Perhentian Island. The return boat ticket cost RM70.00 per person for speed boat and RM40.00 per person for slow boat.
You also can fly with Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia or Fireflyz from Kuala Lumpur to either Kuala Terengganu or Kota Bharu (45minutes). After arriving at the airport, take either a bus or taxi to Kuala Besut jetty. The journey will be take about 1½ hours from Kuala Terengganu Airport / 1 hours from Kota Bharu Airport to the jetty.
Kuala Besut Jetty

Dive spot in Perhentian
The most famous are sugar wreck and tokong laut
Perhentians scuba diving is excellent - It has a collection of 10 or so dive sites, the max depth of which is around 24 metres. Highlights include two shipwrecks, the Vietnamese Wreck, which is upside down, and the Sugar Wreck, which is lying on its side with two cranes still attached to its deck. There is also the labyrinth of rocks and boulders known as T3 (Terumbu Tiga) and the pinnacle which is variously called Temple and, er, The Pinnacle. The reef in D Lagoon is excellent for a long, shallow dive too.

You may see, turtles, a black tip shark, triggerfish, tiny yellow boxfish (deeply cute), huge puffafish (up to half a metre in length), razorfish, octopus, schools of barracuda, jacks, fusiliers and travallies, a squadron of squid close to the surface and a truly giant moray eel.

in my opinion, the island stops are the best destinations for diving because i will guarantee  you'll find a turtle, nudi branch, sharks, morays ell, large school of fish ,trigger fish and beautiful sand beach.

Redang Island (or Pulau Redang, as it is known locally) is located in the South China Sea, Approximately 45km northeast of Kuala Terengganu. With at least 20 dive sites, there's definitely a high chance that you'll get to spot something you've never seen before!

Diving Season in Redang Island

Similar to most islands located off the east coast of Malaysia, Redang too is closed off to tourists during the months of November to March due to the monsoon. However in the rest of the months, do expect to you can expect to have great sunny weather during your stay!
