Introduction to scuba diving

Diving is like entering a new world. Unfortunately, many are afraid or do not know how to try scuba diving.
SCUBA stand for 'Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus'.Many are interested in diving, but everyone  fear because they could not swim. Don't worry, when you get a diving license, you will be trained in all aspects
including swimming, water confident and be a good and safe diver.
  
For information, to dive, do not always need to lisen diving as there are dive center offering PADI Discover Scuba Diving package. Discover Scuba Diving will let you try scuba to see if you like it. Most PADI dive shops offer a version of this program, either in a pool or other body of water. You might try it close to home or while you’re on vacation. While not an actual scuba certification, during the Discover Scuba Diving experience you’ll learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and get a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.


There was several scuba certification agencies available such as :

1) CMAS (Comité des Sports Sous-Marins / World Confederation of Underwater Activities)
         










Delegates from the following Federations: Federal Republic of Germany, Belgium, Brazil, France, Greece, Italy, Monaco, Portugal, Switzerland, the United States of America and Yugoslavia met in Brussels on the occasion of the congress of the independent International Confederation gathering all underwater disciplines. A meeting was held in Monaco on January 9, 10 and 11, 1959 and a decision to establish the "World Confederation of Underwater Activities" in brief "C.M.A.S.", was taken.



2) PADI ( Professional Association of Diving Instructors)











PADI is the world’s leading scuba diving training organization.
With more than forty years experience, over 135,000 PADI Professionals  worldwide, PADI training materials and services let you experience scuba diving from nearly anywhere.








3) NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors )








NAUI Worldwide is the world's most respected, largest non-profit diver training organization in the world. Established in 1959 as a membership association and organized solely to support and promote Dive Safety Through Education.






4)  SSI (Scuba Schools International )
 









Since more than 40 years SSI provides training, scuba diving certification, and educational resources for divers, dive instructors, and dive centers and resorts around the world. Started in 1970, SSI has expanded to include more than 30 Service Centers, is represented in more than 110 countries with over 2.400 International locations.





5)  ACUC (American Canadian Underwater Certifications )








Formerly Association of Canadian Underwater Councils) – originated in Canada in 1969 and expanded internationally in 1984






6) BSAC( British Sub Aqua Club )












Based in the United Kingdom, founded in 1953 and is the largest dive club in the world.


7)  International Training SDI, TDI & ERDi
Based in the United States, TDI is the world's largest technical diving agency, SDI is the recreational division focusing on new methods and online courses, and ERDi is the public safety component.








License diving can be obtained at the diving centers in the resorts around the world.

There are many diving license issuing agencies. What is most important is the diving center provides an experienced instructor and is recognized and the agency is recognized around the world.
